Sunshine, warmer temperatures end weekend in Metro Detroit

Snowflakes possible north of I-69

4Warn Weather – After most of us saw a few snowflakes, and some sunshine to start the weekend, we will keep the sunshine in the forecast, as well as a few snowflakes for some of us through the end of the weekend on Sunday.

An upper-level disturbance will continue to work through the region, with an area of low pressure well off to our north in Canada. This will help keep the gusty winds around today with winds gusting as high as 30 to 35 MPH, and a few snowflakes possible along the north of I-69.

Despite the gusty winds, we will see temperatures warming up as we head into the afternoon, about 10° warmer or more than what we had to start the weekend. High temperatures heading into the upper 30s by Sunday afternoon, after starting in the upper teens and lower 20s with wind chills into the single digits for just about everyone.

We will keep a mainly clear sky into the forecast overnight tonight, and it will be cold once again. Overnight lows dropping into the lower 20s overnight tonight and into Monday Morning.

High pressure will move into the region to start the week and control the forecast, which means we will see plenty of Sunshine throughout our Monday, but we will keep a little high cloud cover into the forecast as well. High temperatures warming into the lower 40s by Monday afternoon, and we will keep some sunshine and cloud covered into the forecast for Tuesday with temperatures getting warmer yet again. High temperatures heading for the upper 40s by Tuesday afternoon.

Our next chance of rain moves into the region by the middle of the week on Wednesday, and into Thursday. It doesn’t look like it’s a large chance of rain, but expect more cloud covered to roll in on Wednesday before the rain showers move in late Wednesday night and into Thursday. High temperatures, unseasonably, warm, heading into the lower 50s by Wednesday , then dropping back into the 40s with the chance of rain showers hanging on into part of Thursday.

Colder weather moves in for the end of next week and start of next weekend, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds for Friday followed by a chance of some snow showers on Saturday. High temperature is back into the upper 30s to end next week and start next weekend.
