Dozens of counties in Lower Michigan will be under a winter weather advisory on Friday as a spring storm moves across the state, bringing several inches of snow to some areas.
A winter weather advisory is typically issued by the National Weather Service for any amount of freezing rain, or when 2 to 4 inches of snow (alone or in combination with sleet and freezing rain), is expected to cause a significant inconvenience, but not serious enough to warrant a warning.
