Sunshine and lower humidity move into Metro Detroit for the start of the weekend

Expect plenty of sunshine by the afternoon with temperatures near average for the end of June

Sunshine and clouds will move into the region to start the weekend before mostly sunny skies are expected late in the day (WDIV)

4Warn WeatherSATURDAY: Morning sunshine and clouds give way to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. High: 85.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 67.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies. Warmer and more humid. High: 90.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies. Low: 71.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy skies. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. High: 86.

After some showers and thunderstorms to end the day on Friday, our cold front has pulled off to the east overnight last night early this morning, and that is going to bring a break from the showers and thunderstorms looking ahead into the upcoming weekend.

We will start off with a little more cloud cover on Saturday morning, but some sunshine to go with some of that cloud cover. But then I’m expecting the clouds to thin out, and mostly sunny skies will move into the region by the afternoon. We will get a break from the heat and humidity as we head throughout the start of the weekend, high temperatures heading for the mid 80s by Saturday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies can be expected overnight tonight into early on Sunday morning. Overnight lows, a little more on uncomfortable side of things. We will drop into the upper 60s by early Sunday morning.

With high pressure firmly in control the forecast, we will keep the sunshine into the forecast for the end of the weekend on Sunday. But expect more heat and more humidity to move into the region by the end of the weekend as well. High temperatures heading back into the lower 90s by Sunday afternoon, but once you factor in the humidity, we are expecting heat index values to go back into the low of mid 90s by Sunday afternoon.

Our next cold front moves into the region looking ahead into the start of next week on Monday. This will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures heading into the middle 80s by Monday afternoon.

Once that cold front rolls through the region, this will bring an extended break from the heat and humidity looking ahead into most of next week. Expect plenty of sunshine to stick around Tuesday all the way through Thursday. High temperatures remaining in the middle 80s for the middle of next week.

Our next chance of rain moves into the region by the time we get to the end of the week on Friday for the Fourth of July holiday. That is another area of low pressure and a frontal boundary moving into the region, so we will keep the chance of rain showers into the forecast. High temperatures remaining into the middle 80s by the end of next week.
