Storms are back in the forecast, but the weekend is closing with comfortable conditions in Metro Detroit.

Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy in Southeast Michigan on Sunday night. Mild lows will be around 70 degrees. Southerly winds of around 5 mph will calm overnight.

Monday

The rain has been enjoying visits to Metro Detroit, and it will be back Monday.

Apart from it being hot and humid, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front that will sweep across the region on Monday. A couple of rain showers will be possible in the morning. Otherwise, the active weather is likely to begin in the afternoon.

Some thunderstorms could become strong to severe. Communities south of 8 Mile Road/M-102 are under a marginal, or level one of five, threat of severe weather. The primary concern will be straight-line winds up to 60 mph, but localized street flooding may become a problem due to downpours.

Thunderstorms will increase in coverage after 1 p.m. and last through the evening. Expect highs in the mid- to upper-80s, but the humidity will make it feel like the lower-90s.

A few rain showers will be possible overnight. Lows will be in the mid- to upper 60s.

Tuesday through Thursday

Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy Tuesday through Thursday, but a pop-up shower is possible on Thursday. Expect highs will be in the mid-80s and lows in the lower- to mid-60s.

Friday

Independence Day will bring mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid-80s. Fireworks shows should stay dry, with temperatures in the mid- to upper-70s. Lows will be around 70 degrees.

Saturday

Saturday will be partly, with increasing clouds and the chance of rain showers at night. Highs will be around 90 degrees, and lows will be in the lower-70s.

Sunday

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible next Sunday, with highs in the upper-80s.
