DETROIT – There’s a chance of severe weather Monday in Metro Detroit as showers and thunderstorms move through the area.
Monday began with warm and humid conditions as a warm front lifts across the area. That could lead to a few isolated showers and heavy downpours.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening. Some could reach severe limits ahead and along an approaching cold front.
Southeast Michigan is under a marginal risk for severe weather, which is a level 1 out of 5. That window is between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday across the entire area.
The most likely threats if weather becomes severe are wind gusts up to 60 mph and flooding from heavy downpours.
