After a dry start to the week with lots of sunshine, we will keep some sunshine into the forecast, looking ahead throughout the next few days, but we will also bring the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms into the forecast as well.
High-pressure will control the forecast out over the Midwestern United States throughout the next few days, but with some instability around, we will keep the chance of a isolated shower or thunderstorm possible Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon. I do not expect these thunderstorms to be widespread throughout the next few days, but through the late afternoon and into the evening hours, we could see an isolated thunderstorm or two.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed part of the region under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather both Wednesday and Thursday. We could see an isolated strong to possibly severe thunderstorm over the next few days. Damaging winds and excessive 60 miles an hour and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats.
High temperatures remaining seasonable over the next few days as we warm into the mid upper 80s through Thursday.
Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds to continue through the end of the week on Friday and into the start of the weekend on Saturday. But we are going to bring more heat and more humidity into the forecast as well. High temperatures heading for the upper 80s on Friday, will warm into the lower 90s by the time we get to the weekend. Once you factor in the humidity, expect heat index values to go into the 90s starting on Friday and continuing throughout the entire weekend.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast, looking ahead into the end of the weekend on Sunday, and into the start of next week. High temperatures dropping back into the middle 80s as we look ahead into next Monday and Tuesday.
