The holiday weekend has ended with its own display in the sky: thunderstorms.

The storms traveled across the Southeast Michigan ahead of a cold front, which was forecast to usher in cooler and drier air over the region for the start of the workweek.

A few rain showers could linger into Sunday night and Monday morning, but the threat of strong storms ended during the evening.

Under mostly cloudy skies, lows will range from the mid-60s to 70 degrees in most locations. Lower-60s will be possible in the Thumb.

Monday

Monday will bring the return of normal early-July temperatures. Afternoon temps will range from the lower-70s in Port Huron to the lower-80s in Detroit. The cooldown will also come with a drop in humidity.
