Timeline for showers, storms Wednesday in Metro Detroit

Southeast Michigan under a marginal risk for severe weather

DETROIT – Showers and storms have returned to Metro Detroit on Wednesday, though storms are not expected to be severe.

Showers began early in the afternoon and are likely to continue during the afternoon and evening.

Heavy downpours and a rumble of thunder are possible. The strongest storms will be capable of producing isolated wind gusts around 50-60 mph and small hail.

The timeline is a bit iffy, but it appears some discrete stronger storms could arrive around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Those storms will become more widespread by 4 p.m.

Most of this should fizzle out by 8 p.m.
