4Warn WeatherAIR QUALITY ALERT: Michigan EGLE has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Entire State of Michigan through Monday. It was initially set to go through noon on Monday, but on Sunday afternoon, officials extended it to go through Monday night. Pollutants across the state are expected to reach the Very Unhealthy (Purple) to Unhealthy (Red AQI) range in northern locations, with ranges of Unhealthy to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (Orange AQI) further south. With these levels, we need to keep an eye on our elderly friends and neighbors, as well as those with respiratory diseases such as asthma, due to smoke from Canadian wildfires moving into the region.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy skies, remaining warm and humid. High: 86.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 65.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny skies, continued warm and humid. High: 88.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 68.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 90.

After showers and thunderstorms moved through the region on Saturday, we’ve started to clear things out as we worked through the overnight hours and into Sunday morning, and we will expect drier weather to stick around on Sunday, but we will also bring in some air quality concerns as well.

Michigan EGLE has issued a Statewide Air Quality Alert for the State of Michigan through Monday. Wildfire smoke from Canada will push into Michigan through Monday. Increased fine particulate levels will push east and south, expanding across the rest of the state as Sunday progresses. Highest concentrations will be seen in northern areas, with periods of Very Unhealthy to Unhealthy possible. Central locations could see readings ranging from Unhealthy to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range, and southern locations can expect levels of fine particulate in the Moderate to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range.

Sunshine will stick around into the end of the weekend on Sunday, and we will keep a little cloud cover around as well behind the cold front that moves through Saturday late at night. High temperature is cooling down just a bit, will drop into the middle 80s by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

We keep the dry weather into the forecast for the first part of next week, on Monday and Tuesday. But the heat and humidity will stick around both days as well. High temperatures into the upper 80s to near 90° on Monday will give way to the lower 90s by Tuesday. But once you factor in the humidity, we are expecting the heat index value used to go into the 90s looking ahead into early next week.

We’ll keep a chance of rain showers in the forecast, looking into the middle of next week on Wednesday, and then thunderstorms are back into the forecast by the time we get to Thursday. High temperatures remaining into the lower 90s on Wednesday will give way to the middle 80s by the time we get to Thursday.

Drier weather moves into the forecast by the time we get to the end of next week on Friday, and we will get rid of the humidity and bring some much cooler air into the region. High temperatures only heading into the lower 80s by the time we get to the end of next week.

Expect the sunshine to continue as we look ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. Comfortable temperatures stick around into the start of the weekend as well, expect daytime high temperatures to head into the middle 80s by the afternoon.
