Southeast Michigan under ‘level one’ risk for severe storms

Expect a warm, humid, and stormy Saturday evening.

Scattered and potentially intense thunderstorms will impact Southeast Michigan until nighttime. Storms could bring downpours, flash flooding risks, and strong gusty winds until 10 p.m.

Ponding and localized flooding could make roads slick. Those on bikes or scooters should be cautious. Activities like yard work, picnics, or outdoor events may be interrupted. If heading out, take rain gear and check alerts for severe weather.

Lingering showers and storms may linger into the night and taper off after midnight. Lows will range from the mid-60s north of I-69 to 70 degrees in Warren, Detroit, and Monroe.

Sunday

A drop in humidity will bring relief on Sunday. Expect highs in the upper-70s and lower-80s, with intervals of sunshine peeking through clouds.

Sunday night will be ideal for outdoor fun and a campfire. Skies will be mostly clear, with lows around 60 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday will be great for outdoor events, gardening, patio dinners, and runs, with comfortable temperatures. Expect sunshine. Highs will be in the lower-80s and lows in the upper-50s to mid-60s.

Wednesday

Wednesday will see rising heat and humidity. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will peak in the mid 90s.

Thursday and Friday

Storm chances will develop Thursday and Friday, with highs in the lower- to mid-90s. Thunderstorms may disrupt travel and outdoor plans.
