Heat wave to bring humidity, storms to Metro Detroit this week: What to expect

4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit is entering a week of typical summer weather: a mix of heat, humidity, and scattered storms.

Daily routines could be affected by muggy conditions and pop-up thunderstorms.

Monday

Monday night will remain mostly clear and calm. Overnight temperatures will be as low as the lower 50s in the Thumb, mid-50s in Ann Arbor and Sterling Heights, and upper 50s in Detroit and Monroe.

Tuesday

The temperature will rise by one degree on Tuesday. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will peak in the lower 80s.

The humidity will be low enough for many people to still feel comfortable.

Nighttime skies will be mostly clear, with lows in the lower 60s.

Wednesday

Wednesday will see rising heat and humidity in Metro Detroit. The heat will further increase on Thursday. (WDIV)

Wednesday will see rising heat and humidity. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will peak near 90 degrees.

The feel-like temperatures will be in the lower- to mid-90s. Expect lows in the lower-70s.

Thursday

Thursday will be mostly sunny, hot, and muggy. An isolated pop-up rain shower may occur, but most areas will remain dry.

The humidity will combine with the hot air, making it feel like 100 degrees or higher. The night will bring little relief. Warm lows will again be in the lower 70s.

Friday

Friday will bring a chance of rain showers in the morning. There will be a better chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be around 90 degrees, but it will feel like the mid-to-upper 90s. Lows will be near 70 degrees.

This Weekend

The weekend will offer a much-needed break from the heat and humidity. It will be nice for barbecues and community events, but there will be a chance of rain.

Temperatures will remain warm in the mid to upper 80s. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday. An isolated shower will be possible on Sunday.
