Sunny start to week before heat wave hits Metro Detroit

Heat and humidity soar midweek and beyond

DETROIT – I’m issuing a “Get Outside” Alert! It might be a noticeably cooler morning than yesterday morning due to clear skies overnight, but high pressure will bring us sunshine throughout the day and pleasant conditions. We are slightly below average today and tomorrow with highs around 80 paired with low humidity.

A warming trend begins midweek through Friday, bringing heat risks to the area. Highs Wednesday through Friday will be in the 90s, and with high humidity building in, heat indices may reach 100 degrees on Thursday.

Shower and storm chances return late Thursday through Friday. Highs this weekend will still trend above average in the upper 80s.
