4Warn Weather – After 7 days of air quality alerts across Southeastern Michigan, we are going to start to see some improvement in terms of the air quality looking ahead into the next few days.
Michigan EGLE has told WDIV Local 4 News, the air quality alert will not continue for Southern Michigan into the middle of the week on Wednesday, but we will still be dealing with some of the smoke from the Canadian wildfires through the end of the week. Expect the air quality range to head back into the moderate range for much of the region of the day on Wednesday.
Outside of the air quality concerns, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day tomorrow, summer-like heat will be sticking around as well. High temperatures will soar into the low 80s by the time we get to Wednesday afternoon.
Much like we saw throughout the day on Tuesday, I am going to hold onto an isolated shower, where the lake breeze and land breeze interaction occur occurs in some of our eastern communities, but most of the region will remain dry throughout the day.
An upper-level ridge of high pressure will control the forecast all the way through the end of the week, but as a suddenly flow starts to move in by the time we get to Friday and looking ahead into the upcoming weekend, we will dial-in more summer heat, and more humidity into the forecast.
Expect high temperatures to warm into the upper 80s by the time we get to Friday, then head into the lower 90s for both Saturday and Sunday. Once you factor in the humidity, we are expecting heat index values through the weekend and into early next week to soar into the mid upper 90s.
Our next chance of thunderstorms doesn’t roll into the region until the first part of next week for Monday and Tuesday. We will watch another cold front head toward the region, so thunderstorms will return to the forecast, but the heat and humidity will remain as well. Expect high temperatures to drop just a few degrees into the upper 80s looking ahead into the first part of next week.
