Summer heat and humidity continues for Metro Detroit; storm chances return next week

Sunny skies dominate but storm chances return midweek

After sunshine and warmer temperatures to end the week on Friday, we will continue that trend of summer heat and humidity looking ahead into the upcoming weekend.

The dry weather sticks into the end of the weekend on Sunday. Mostly sunny skies can be expected both days. High temperatures heading into the low to mid 90s by the time we get to Sunday afternoon.

With the increase in humidity, looking ahead through the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend, and our high temperatures forecast to be under the 90s through the weekend and early next week as well, expect he didn’t value to warm into the mid upper 90s continuing into the start of next week on Monday.

While we keep the chance of an isolated thunderstorm into the forecast on Friday, we really don’t get a chance of more widespread showers and thunderstorms moving into the region until the middle of next week.

We’re expecting a chance of thunderstorms to move back into the forecast starting on Tuesday and Wednesday as another cold front presses on through the region. High temperature is dropping into the upper 80s looking ahead into Tuesday and Wednesday.

We will keep the chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm into the forecast looking ahead into the end of next week for Thursday and Friday. High temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 80s, and back to near 90 degrees by Friday.

More sunshine is expected for the start of next weekend on Saturday. Mostly sunny skies is forecast. High temperatures heading back into the lower 90s by the time we get to Saturday afternoon. The above average temperatures are also not forecast to go anywhere, anytime soon. The Climate Prediction Center’s 6-10 Day Temperature Outlook has the entire region under a chance of above average temperatures through late August. So, summer’s grip on the region isn’t letting up anytime soon.
