4Warn Weather – Temperatures and humidity will be on the rise in Metro Detroit over the next couple of days.
Thursday saw a mix of sunshine and clouds with hazy skies. Although wildfire smoke was drifting over Southeast Michigan, air quality levels remained in the moderate to unhealthy range for sensitive groups.
Besides the wildfire smoke, there is a chance of patchy fog developing Thursday night.
Otherwise, the skies will be partly cloudy. Expect lows in the mid-60s.
Friday
Friday will see the heat go up a notch. A few spots will have patchy fog in the morning.
Then, under partly cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 80s. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at around five mph.
Friday night will be mostly clear. Temperatures will be in the mid- to upper 60s.
Weekend forecast
Get ready for a sizzling weekend in Metro Detroit.
Temperatures are expected to climb to around 90 degrees on Saturday, with heat index values pushing into the mid-90s.
Whether you plan to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise or the Michigan Renaissance Festival near Holly, be sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
Clouds will build Saturday night as inclement weather approaches. Lows will be around 70 degrees.
Storms possible late Saturday into Sunday
While lovely skies are expected to last through Saturday, storm chances are set to increase overnight.
During the overnight hours of early Sunday morning, showers and thunderstorms could develop.
There is a possibility that some of them may become strong or even severe.
Michigan is under a marginal, or level one of five, risk for severe thunderstorms.
Therefore, it is something to keep in mind if you plan to engage in late-night activities or an early Sunday start.
Have multiple ways to get alerts overnight.
Sunday afternoon is expected to bring more showers and thunderstorms, with highs in the mid-80s. Some of these storms could also become strong.
