4Warn Weather – After plenty of sunshine to end the week, we are going to bring the chance of a few rain showers into the forecast to start the weekend, before the sunshine returns by the end of the weekend.
The clouds have increased overnight Friday night and early on Saturday morning, and we will keep the cloud cover into the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend.
With a frontal boundary south of the region, and an upper-level disturbance off to our north and west, that will work into the region as we work throughout the start of the weekend on Saturday, and keep the chance of a few rain showers in the forecast primarily in the morning. I am not expecting the day to be a washout, but we will keep the cloud cover around for a good chunk of the day on Saturday. High temperatures is remaining above average, into the 80s by Saturday afternoon.
As high pressure builds into the region, we will start to clear things out late Saturday night, overnight into early Sunday morning. Expect decreasing clouds through Saturday night; mainly clear skies will be expected, especially after midnight. Overnight lows are dropping into the 50s by early Sunday morning.
High pressure will start to build into the region. By the time we get to the end of the weekend on Sunday, expect sunshine and warmer temperatures as we head into the end of the weekend. High temperatures heading into the 80s once again by Sunday afternoon.
If you’re heading to downtown Detroit for the Detroit Lions game on Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening, we could not ask for a better forecast. Expect plenty of sunshine, temperatures into the 70s for tailgating in the morning, and then temperatures into the 80s as we head into kick off early Sunday afternoon.
High pressure will continue to control the forecast for the majority of next week, which means another extended dry period is expected at the end of the forecast. Expect plenty of sunshine each and every day from Monday all the way through Thursday. High temperatures are getting a few degrees warmer each and every day, low to mid 80s to start the week on Monday, warming into the upper 80s by the time we get to Thursday.
By the time we get to the end of the week on Friday, we will bring a little more cloud coverage into the forecast, but as of right now, the forecast looks to remain dry. High temperature is cooling down a bit, dropping into the lower 80s by the time we get to the end of next week.
Going beyond the seven-day forecast, it looks like the warmer temperatures are going to be sticking around. The Climate Prediction Center’s 6-10 Day Temperature Outlook keeps above-average temperatures in play for the entire lower 48 states. Which means we will end summer with summer-like temperatures, and potentially start fall by the end of the month with the above-average temperature sticking around.
