The Motor City’s warmth is revving up.
Metro Detroit has entered a fairly warm, mostly dry stretch. That includes mild nighttime temperatures.
Lows from Sunday night into early Monday morning will be near 60 degrees in Detroit and mid-50s in Adrian, Ann Arbor, Brighton, Holly, Lapeer, Sandusky, and Romeo. Skies will be mostly clear, but patchy fog will be possible again.
Monday
The best chance of morning fog will be closer to Lake Huron, Lake St. Clair, and Lake Erie. It will dissipate by 9 a.m. Monday. Morning bus stop temperatures will be in the mid-50s to near 60 degrees. Expect afternoon temperatures to peak in the lower-80s, except for highs in the mid- to upper-70s near the shoreline. Winds will be east at 5 to 10 mph.
Looking Ahead
Plan for comfortable mornings, warm afternoons, and mostly dry skies.
Daytime highs through midweek will hover in the lower- to mid-80s, with overnight lows only falling to around 60 degrees near Detroit. Mid-September’s average highs are in the mid-70s, and average lows are in the mid-50s. Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Hats, sunscreen, and hydration will matter, especially if doing physical work or spending a lot of time outdoors. Clouds will build late this week.
Friday will be the start of a cooling trend. Friday’s highs will be in the lower-80s. Saturday’s highs will drop to the mid-70s, and Southeast Michigan will see more clouds than sunshine.
Next Sunday, some morning cloud cover will be followed by chances of showers in the afternoon.
Conditions will be ideal for errands, outdoor sports, and get-togethers most of the week.
Enjoy the string of great summer weather while it lasts. The autumnal equinox will occur on Sept. 22 at 2:19 p.m.
