Late summer sizzle continues: Southeast Michigan temperatures stay above normal

4Warn Weather – It is not every year you get a September stretch like this one.

Monday brought another gorgeous afternoon to Metro Detroit after areas of morning fog.

Monday’s highs reached the lower-80s across much of Southeast Michigan.

The warm, sunny pattern is expected to stick around for several more days.

So, if you love summer weather, now is your moment to get outside and enjoy it.

Monday night will bring lows into the upper-50s to 60 degrees. Skies will be mostly clear, but patchy fog will develop late and last into the morning commute.

Allow extra time on Tuesday morning for the possibility of fog.

Otherwise, be sure to take sunglasses and a cap for the abundant sunshine.

Morning bus stop temperatures will be around 60 degrees.

During the afternoon, temperatures in Metro Detroit are expected to peak in the lower to mid-80s.

This warm, dry weather is forecast to continue for most of the week.

Metro Detroit is expected to see highs in the lower to mid-80s through Friday. The region is expected to remain rain-free until the weekend.

Little change before the weekend, then a cooldown is likely

No fundamental changes are expected before Friday.

The warm streak will reach its peak on Thursday with a forecast high of 86 degrees.

Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s to about 60 degrees.

By Friday, a shift is forecast, with highs dropping to around 80 degrees.

The forecast shows a chance of rain and a return to cooler, more seasonable weather for the weekend.

A few rain showers are possible on Sunday in the morning and afternoon.

A couple of showers and an isolated thunderstorm are possible on Monday as we welcome autumn at 2:19 p.m.

The first day of fall will see temperatures closer to normal, with highs in the mid-to upper-70s.
