DETROIT – Someone needs to tell Mother Nature that it is September and not August. Highs could reach the mid to upper 80s this afternoon, making this the warmest day of the week. We will start with sunshine before a few clouds mix in later in the day.
There is potential for a few non-severe thunderstorms this afternoon into the early evening across the Saginaw Valley and western Thumb.as a cold front sags into the region. The rest of us remain dry.
We cool to around 80 on Friday, but even that remains above average with seasonal highs in the low to mid 70s. We will hover around 80 degrees each afternoon through the weekend and into the first half of next week.
Our best chance for rain arrives Sunday night and will bring off and on chances through early next week. Monday marks the official start to fall.
