Sunshine with near-record temperatures continue in Metro Detroit this weekend

Cooler changes along with some much needed rain move into the region early next week

4Warn WeatherSATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 86.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 59.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 85.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 61.

MONDAY: Mix sunshine & clouds, continued warm. High: 85.

After lots of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures to end the week, we are going to continue that trend of dry weather with near record high temperatures, looking ahead into the entire weekend.

With high pressure firmly in control of the forecast, we are keeping the sunshine around for both Saturday and Sunday, with near record temperatures as possible both days. That high-pressure center will act as a heat pump, bringing in a strong southerly flow into the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Great Lakes this weekend. This will send our high temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 80s, and only a few degrees away from record high temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.

RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND:

Saturday, October 4th, 2025: 89° - 1951 (Forecast: 86°)

Sunday, October 5th, 2025: 88° - 1951 (Forecast: 85°)

Expect the dry weather to stick around into early next week as well, before a cold front swings into the region late Monday night and into Tuesday. This will increase our cloud cover and bring us a chance of some much-needed rain and possibly a few thunderstorms to the region.

With temperatures remaining in the 80s through the start of next week, once those chances for showers and a few thunderstorms roll into the region, expect high temperatures to drop drastically. We’re expecting high temperatures to head to only around 70° by the time we get to Tuesday.

The front will move through the region fast, we will clear things out late Tuesday night, and we will bring a mixture of sunshine and clouds back into the forecast, looking ahead into the middle of the week on Wednesday.

This will also usher in some cooler changes; temperatures will be going below average, looking ahead into the second half of next week. With the sunshine in clouds, expect high temperatures to hold into the lower 60s on Wednesday and Thursday.

As high pressure builds into the region, we will increase the Sunshine from Thursday and into the end of the week on Friday. And high temperatures will warm up a little bit. Expect daytime highs to be close to where we should be for this time in October, into the upper 60s to near 70° by the end of next week.
