Summer weather at the Cider Mill again today in Metro Detroit with near-record heat today.
The high is forecasted to reach 86 degrees, just shy of the record 88 degrees set in 1951.
High pressure is responsible for ushering in this very warm air across much of the Midwest. However, a shift is on the way as rain and fall weather return early this week.
A healthy cold front will bring scattered showers starting late Monday night. Rain will continue into Tuesday morning, accompanied by the chance of a few thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Looking ahead, high pressure will build back into the region by Wednesday. This will bring sunshine and cooler temperatures through the end of the week and into the weekend.
