4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit settles into a classic fall pattern tonight with partly cloudy skies and a chill in the air.
Overnight lows dip into the lower- to mid-30s, with the coldest readings near Howell, Ann Arbor, and Lapeer, where frost may form by daybreak.
A light west wind at 5 to 10 mph — occasionally gusting near 20 mph — will keep the air brisk at night.
Weekend
Looking ahead to the weekend and the start of November, a few spotty showers may return Saturday, but Sunday looks brighter as we “fall back” with the end of daylight saving time.
Afternoon highs both days hover in the lower- to mid-50s.
Game Time
Football fans have reason to smile: Saturday night’s Michigan vs. Purdue matchup at the Big House will be chilly but manageable, with temperatures in the upper-40s to lower-40s through the game and only a slight chance of a passing sprinkle.
By Sunday, tailgaters for the Lions-Vikings showdown can expect temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s in the morning.
People heading to Ford Field will encounter temperatures in the lower 50s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies before the 1 p.m. kickoff.
Workweek
Monday will bring a few rain showers and the return of gusty winds. Highs will be in the mid- to upper-50s Monday and through the week.
It will be a mix of cool and comfortable weather in November.
