Warm Tuesday before Metro Detroit turns colder for the rest of the week

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week before Southeast Michigan sees colder air arrive.

4Warn Weather – Tuesday will be warm and breezy with temperatures in the lower 40s. The normal high for this time of year is 32 degrees.

Scattered rain showers will be possible throughout Tuesday afternoon. It’ll be breezy with Southwest winds at 15-20mph, gusting into the 30s at times.

Temperatures into the late-night hours will remain in the mid to upper 30s as winds shift to the West.

A strong cold front coming through the Metro Detroit area Wednesday morning brings in colder air, causing temperatures to fall throughout the day.

After starting Wednesday morning in the mid 30s, we’ll drop to the mid 20s by the afternoon.

Winds shift to the Northwest at 15-20mph with gusts to around 30mph at times. This will give us wind chills Wednesday afternoon in the mid teens.

Snow showers are likely Wednesday into Wednesday night but most get only around an inch or less in accumulation. Along the Lake Huron shoreline 3-4″ will be possible due to lake effect.

Winds stay on the breezy side into Thursday. With overnight lows in the teens, wind chills Thursday morning will be around 0 degrees.

We look to remain cold for the rest of the week. Thursday will be dry before the next chance of snow Friday.
