DETROIT – A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect through Saturday morning due to dangerously cold conditions. Wind chills are expected to reach a minimum of -15 to -25F this morning and remain below zero throughout the day.
Lows tonight fall almost ten below zero without the wind chill. This is potentially the coldest air we have had in nearly seven years.

Confidence is increasing for accumulating snowfall on Sunday, with potential for several inches across Southeast Michigan, particularly in the south. Model data has a wide range from 2 to over 8 inches, so we still need to fine tune the forecast, but the potential for over 4 inches is increasing for our southern counties. Any snow we pickup this weekend will stick around. We don’t rise above freezing for the next week.
