How much more snow will Metro Detroit get rest of Tuesday, Wednesday?

Snow bands move through Southeast Michigan on Tuesday

DETROIT – More snow moved into Metro Detroit on Tuesday afternoon, causing whiteout conditions on freeways and reduced visibility at Detroit Metro Airport.

The band of snow showers hit around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday from Mt. Clemens to Downtown Detroit and down I-75 to Monroe. Visibility with these snow squalls was reduced quickly.

A second band of snow is near DTW and Romulus around 2:30 p.m. and working its way east.

There’s also some scattered snow north of Metro Detroit.

This snow all came in behind Tuesday morning’s cold front.

We’re keeping a chance of snow showers throughout the rest of Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will hover in the teens and then fall during the night to around 0.

Winds are gusting up to 25 mph.

If you get under some of the scattered snow showers that are moving through, you could see reduced visibility and a quick coating to a half-inch of snow the rest of Tuesday.

There’s a possibility of a few more snowflakes on Wednesday, much like Tuesday’s conditions.

You can see the whiteout conditions on the Lodge Freeway below.
