Extreme wind chills in Metro Detroit, slight warming trend on the horizon

Lake-effect snow likely in the Thumb region Friday night

DETROIT – The Cold Weather Advisory for areas north of I-96 is in effect through 10 AM as actual temperatures start out 5 to 20 below zero across most areas.

Lake effect snow showers from Lake Huron are likely in the Thumb tonight into Saturday with potentially 1-3″ of accumulation. We are still on the chilly side tomorrow with subzero morning lows and wind chills -10 to -15. Sunshine returns on Sunday allowing temperatures to rise a little into the low 20s.

Next Week

Still below our average high of low 30s, high temperatures will at least be better that this past week as we top out in the 20s all next week. Snow chances return Monday and Wednesday.
