Widespread rain is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday

4WARN WEATHER – Temperatures in Southeast Michigan are so warm rain, not snow, is in the forecast for Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Many started Tuesday with fog and mist. Fog will continue to diminish, improving visibility, ahead of increasing cloud cover.

Winds today are out of the east-southeast at 5-10 mph. This will keep afternoon highs closer to the Lake Huron shoreline near 40° while inland locations will be warmer.

Rain moves into Southeast Michigan tonight. Scattered showers are possible this evening before widespread rain is expected overnight. The northernmost part of the thumb could see a little freezing rain to start, and with more wintry precipitation expected in northern Lower Michigan, Winter Weather Advisories will go into effect there at midnight tonight.

Rain looks to move out for Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will be a bit divided with highs near 60° southward and 40s into the thumb.

We turn cooler for Thursday with highs in the mid 40s. Rain and wintry mix chances return later Thursday into Friday.
