Seasonal temperatures Sunday before a colder start to the workweek in Metro Detroit

High temperatures will be near normal Sunday before Southeast Michigan is colder Monday and Tuesday

4Warn Weather - The normal high temperature this time of year in Detroit is 37°. After reaching 36° Saturday, high temps Sunday are forecasted to again be in the mid 30s.

However, the wind will make a difference in how it feels. Northwest winds Sunday will be steady at 10-15 mph, gusting to around 20 mph at times. This will keep it feeling more like the mid 20s for much of the day.

If you’ll be out, you might want the warmer coat and to give yourself an extra few minutes on the roads. Snow moves into Southeast Michigan tonight.

Most will pick up around an inch, but isolated locations could see two to three inches. Snow tapers off for most in the later evening hours Sunday, but due to lake effect don’t be surprised if you see a few flakes into Monday.

Monday will generally be a drier day before the next chance of snow Tuesday.

What you’ll notice Monday and Tuesday is the cold. A northwest wind will keep high temperatures both days closer to 30 degrees. Afternoon wind chills will be in the teens.

Winds shift to the south Tuesday which will help to moderate our temperatures. We only fall to the mid 20s Tuesday night and highs Wednesday will be around 40 degrees.
