From sunshine to storms: SE Michigan braces for Mother’s Day weekend weather shift with rain, gusty wind

Scattered rain, and possibly strong storms, develop Saturday afternoon across Southeast Michigan

4Warn Weather – Friday was beautiful across Southeast Michigan with sun and clouds and highs around 60°.

Throughout the evening, temperatures will slowly fall, dropping to the mid-40s overnight under partly cloudy skies.

Southwest winds pick up tomorrow to 10-20 mph, gusting to around 30 mph at times.

That wind helps to bring in some warmth, boosting our afternoon highs to around 70°.

We’ll see a little sun early on before scattered rain associated with a cold front develops around lunchtime and continues into the early afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Southeast Michigan, from near the I-69 corridor southward, under a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather Saturday.

Sunday, Mother’s Day, looks dry with highs around 60°.

Monday will feature plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 50s.

Frost will be possible Monday night into Tuesday morning as temperatures fall to the 30s.

Afternoon highs on Tuesday will recover to around 60°.
