Morning rain moves out, but unsettled weather continues into the weekend

Scattered showers and a few non-severe thunderstorms are moving out of Southeast Michigan this morning, bringing a brief break from the wet weather. While many communities will dry out for a time, the atmosphere will remain noticeably humid. As temperatures warm this afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop as low pressure and a cold front arrive. Severe weather is not anticipated, but any storm could produce brief heavy downpours.

The overall weather pattern remains unsettled and will continue through the weekend. Periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely at times on both Friday and Saturday, with long, dry breaks in between.

Temperatures will remain seasonable throughout the period, with afternoon highs generally in the low to mid-80s and warm, muggy nights.
