Fall officially arrives today, and the weather across Metro Detroit certainly feels more like the season. Temperatures will remain seasonably cool in the 60s for much of the week before warming back toward 70 degrees this weekend. Aside from a low chance of rain tonight and Wednesday, mainly south of I-94, mostly dry conditions are expected through the weekend. Sunshine will gradually increase by late week, setting up a pleasant end to the week and a comfortable weekend.
The Autumnal Equinox
Today marks the Autumnal Equinox, the astronomical start of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. The equinox occurs when the Sun crosses the Earth’s equator, resulting in nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness around the globe.
