A quiet stretch of weather is ahead across Metro Detroit. The easterly wind continues today, although it will be a little weaker than yesterday as the pressure gradient relaxes. The breeze will keep temperatures on the slightly cooler side of average, but a drier air mass will bring plenty of sunshine so that helps highs reach the upper 60s today.
Another clear and crisp fall evening is ahead. Lows tonight will fall well into the 40s outside of the city, making for a chilly night.
We may dip a couple degrees tomorrow as a few more clouds mix in, but high pressure will keep the weather dry through the weekend. Temperatures will gradually warm, making for increasingly comfortable conditions heading into the weekend under mainly sunny skies.
The Harvest Moon, September’s full moon, is set for this Saturday, September 26, 2026. This is the full moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox and we will have clear skies for great viewing.
The next opportunity for more active weather arrives between late Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday next week. A Pacific wave is expected to move toward the Great Lakes, although there is still some uncertainty regarding its eventual track and strength. It’s still too early to determine exactly how this system will evolve, so forecast details will become clearer over the next several days.
