Afternoon showers expected across SE Michigan

DETROITGood Monday morning!

It’s a pleasant start with clear skies over the southern half of the Metro Detroit and more clouds pouring in north. A few light showers in the tip of The Thumb Region or, our far North Zone this morning. We could all use a little rain, and a little rain is exactly what we expect later this afternoon.

Scattered showers around Monday afternoon with very little fear of lightning or anything intense or severe. Garden variety showers from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. which may slow some of you down during the afternoon drive. Highs will be in the upper 70s with light winds N 5-10 mph.

High pressure will control our weather Tuesday through Thursday with very nice, stable, and sunny weather and very few rain chances. Morning lows will be in the low to mid 50s Tuesday morning and then warm into the low 80s with abundant sunshine tomorrow and light winds again W 5-10 mph.

Wednesday and Thursday are carbon copy versions of Tuesday with sun and a few afternoon clouds with highs in the low 80s. Our next rain chance after today, comes late, late Thursday or Friday morning. You can track temperatures and those afternoon showers with our Local4Casters app.
