Chance for thundershowers Wednesday across SE Michigan

DETROITThe forecast is not real clear cut the next couple of days as far as rain and timing, but the general theme will be wet starting later today.

We may get a glimpse of some hazy morning sun, but clouds will be filling in from the south all day bringing increased rain chances. Nothing more than an isolated light shower or sprinkles around Metro Detroit later this morning, with a better chance for rain and isolated thundershowers this afternoon.

The heaviest rain looks to be moving in from the south tonight and overnight. Highs will try to hit  70 degrees before the showers take hold, otherwise in the 60s most of the day. Wind will try to dry the onset of these rain showers coming from the E 5-15 mph.

Rain will linger Thursday morning and possibly into the early afternoon. The showers should be lighter without any storms present, just garden variety showers which are great for the grass and garden. The afternoon hours will start to dry out with mostly cloudy skies and light winds E 5-12 mph. Highs tomorrow will only reach the mid 60s with morning rain and clouds into the afternoon.

Conditions will be mostly dry to start your Memorial Day Weekend. Friday brings partly sunny skies and temps back into the low 70s. A fast moving batch of rain will blow through overnight into early Saturday but it won’t be very impactful.  Saturday brings a little more heat and humidity with temps in the mid to upper 70s.

Rain showers return Sunday and Memorial Day, but right now the models are not showing a two day wash out which means we should be able to have some Holiday fun with a few rain delays likely. As you prepare for the Holiday Weekend, stay ahead of Spring Storms with our Local4Casters app.
