Showers to move in Monday

No description found

We are tracking a tricky storm coming in late Monday, so increasing and thickening clouds are expected during the day, but staying dry.

Snow showers will start late Monday, probably after the evening commute and the snow could be moderate to heavy for several hours into the early hours of Tuesday. The computer model data is consistent with 2-4 inches of snow on the ground early Tuesday around Metro Detroit and perhaps 3-6 inches in the Thumb Region through midday or afternoon Tuesday. This will change over to freezing rain briefly, then rain on Tuesday.

It will change from south to north, so Metro Detroit will likely see the changeover before lunch Tuesday, making an icy and slushy mess through the afternoon. The snow to rain switch will take longer north of I-69. Highs should get to near 40 degrees again on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

We will see the rain end Wednesday morning after a very nice soaking. Look for at least partial clearing through the afternoon with highs near 40 degrees.

Another storm-maker comes in Thursday and this looks like mostly rain again, although it may start as some snow early in the morning. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s to near 50 possibly on Thursday with rain showers as colder air holds off one more day.

Temps will drop by Friday, with a chance for some light snow. You can stay ahead of the cold, snow and rain with the Local4Casters app and take the weather with you.
