The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into Rix in early March 2025 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that she was using her computer to share child pornography.

As part of her sentence, Rix is required to register as a Tier II Sex Offender, which mandates 25 years of registration. She also must register under the Wyatt’s Law and Child Abuse Central Registry, a database of individuals who are convicted of criminal offenses related to children, and forfeit all devices that were used to commit the offenses.

“Any case involving the possession or distribution of child sexually abusive material is deeply disturbing. Such behavior continues the cycle of abuse of innocent children,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in an issued statement. “We are committed to thoroughly prosecuting such offenses to protect vulnerable children and hold offenders fully accountable under the law.”

Rix previously faced eight counts for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime, however those charges were dismissed as part of her no contest plea.

She was remanded to the Macomb County Jail with a six-day credit.
