Motorcyclist dies after striking deer in Waterford Township

The victim’s name has not been released by police.

WATERFORD TWP – A 64-year-old Waterford Township man died on Saturday from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle struck a deer in the roadway.

A witness told police that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Hospital Road near Pershing Street when it collided with the deer and came to rest in a wooded area. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the area around 11:15 a.m., according to the Waterford Township Police Department.

The man was treated at the scene and transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The victim’s name has not been released by police.
