Weather: Warming up to the mid-80s in SE Michigan

DETROITWelcome to another beautiful summer day all across Metro Detroit on this Thursday, starting with temps in the 50s to low 60s as you head out.

We will again see waves of high clouds coming and going from a storm complex over the Western Great Lakes and High Plains. Those clouds may keep afternoon temps down a couple of degrees, but we still expect highs to hit low and maybe mid 80s. The great news is the humidity is on the low side once again and the winds are light SSE 5-10 mph.

Friday forecast:

Friday is our best chance for wet weather in the next seven to 10 days. Light rain showers move in overnight and a second round brings a better chance for rain and isolated soaking showers in the afternoon. Right now, no severe weather is expected but if we get some late morning and afternoon sun will destabilize the skies and lead to a better chance for those afternoon storms. Highs will be near 80 degrees and although the showers and storms will be scattered, the humidity is going up significantly tomorrow.

Weekend forecast:

Showers will linger into early Saturday and that should be it for the weekend. Most of Saturday is dry and still warm, but not as warm. Highs to start the weekend will hold in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees with skies becoming partly sunny into the afternoon. Sunday is a sun day with a cool start in the 50s and a nice finish again near 80 degrees. No rain next week until maybe Friday which means we need to keep watering the grass and garden on our own for a while.
