Michigan’s road to a repeat
Head coach Dusty May and his new-look Wolverines will open Players Era 16 tournament play Monday, Nov. 24, against the Creighton Bluejays.
A victory would send Michigan to the semifinals against either TCU or Miami (FL).
The Players Era 16 will conclude with a standalone championship game Saturday, Nov. 28, at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Michigan captured the 2025 Players Era Men’s Championship in dominant fashion, using the early-season tournament as a springboard to claim the Big Ten regular-season title and, ultimately, the program’s first national championship since 1989.
The Wolverines opened the 2025 Players Era tournament with a 101-61 victory over San Diego State before rolling past No. 21 Auburn 102-72 in the semifinals.
Michigan capped the week with a 101-61 win over No. 12 Gonzaga in the championship game.
Across three victories, the Wolverines outscored their opponents by 110 points and averaged a margin of 36.7 points.
The inaugural 2024 event also featured several eventual NCAA Tournament contenders, including national runner-up Houston.
