The building is owned by Dan Gilbert, and has undergone renovations in recent years.
Shake Shack is one of the fastest growing food chains, becoming a public company in 2014.
The chain offers New York-style hamburgers, as well as hotdogs, fries and milkshakes.
In addition to the Shack classics, the menu will feature location-specific frozen custard concretes. Guests will be able to hang out on the patio overlooking the park and sip on a selection of hand-picked wine and local craft beer.
The company boasts its use of all-natural meat.
Shake Shack started as a food cart outside Madison Square Park in 2000, and after gaining popularity, opened their first kiosk-style restaurant in 2004.
Since, Shake Shack has expanded internationally, with locations across the world, including Tokyo, Dubai and Moscow.
