Run, walk and bike through the Wayne County Lightfest in Hines Park

WESTLAND, Mich. – Experience the Wayne County Lightfest in Hines Park on foot or bike before it opens to vehicles.

Participants in an 8K run and walk will make their way through the Lightfest Tuesday, and a 16K bike ride is scheduled for Wednesday. The bike ride goes through the lights and back again.

The Lightfest is an annual drive-thru holiday light display on Hines Drive.

All bikes must have a light and riders must wear a helmet.

Check-in for the events begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Merriman Hollow Area of the park, and the events start at 7 p.m. each night.

The first 1,800 runners and walkers to register will receive a long sleeve T-shirt and glow-in-the-dark finisher medal. The first 700 bicyclists to register will receive a long sleeve T-shirt.

There will be a prize for the most decorated bike in the ride.

All participants will receive post-event food.

The Lightfest is open to vehicles Nov. 16-Dec. 31. For more information about the events, and to register, click here.     

Registration fees:

Until noon Nov. 12: $25

Nov. 13-14: $30

High school and younger through noon Nov. 12: $18

High school and younger Nov. 13-14: $20

Both the run and ride: $40
