DETROIT – The Wayne County Sheriff's Department celebrated the holiday season by providing families in need with a gift card to shop for food and toys at the Meijer in Detroit.
The officers helped kids shop for gifts and the parents received a voucher for groceries.
Sheriff Benny Napoleon has been delivering gifts to families in need since 2009. In 2015, the department decided to start helping children get what they wanted for the holiday.
The event took place at the Meijer location in Detroit on Grand River.
