Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame releases diverse list of nominees for 2018 induction

Winners announced in February

DETROIT – The nominees for induction into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2018 were announced Friday.

The nominee lineup includes Motown Records, Janet Jackson, Berry Gordy and Mary J. Blige, among other hopefuls.

The 10 artists who get the most votes will be announced in February -- Black History Month -- and the winners will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in June -- Black Music Month.

Last year's induction class included Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Manhattans, Freda Payne, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Carl Carlton and The Impressions.
