Rally held for 5 year anniversary of disappearance of Detroit woman

DETROIT – Today is a heartbreaking anniversary for Donna Davis. Davis’ daughter, Tamala, went missing five years ago today.

Tamala Nikki Wells went missing Aug. 6, 2012 in the 19700 block of Appleton on Detroit’s west side.

Wells is 33-years-old and has two children.

She was driving her white, four-door Pontiac Grand Prix.

That car was found abandoned, but Wells has never been found.

Wells’ boyfriend at the time is considered a suspect by Detroit police, but he has never been charged with any crime.

Today, there is a “Walk in Love Rally” for Wells.

People are invited to join in to bring more attention to the case of Wells and other cases of missing people in Michigan.

The walk starts at 3:30 p.m. at John R Street and State Fair Avenue.

Wells’ mother lives in Florida and had plans to travel to Detroit for today’s rally, but the weight of the anniversary of not seeing her daughter in five years is too stressful.

Davis did share her thoughts about her missing daughter with Local 4’s Shawn Ley. Watch what she had to say above.
