WATCH: Full coverage of 2017 Ford Fireworks

DETROIT – Local 4 is your home for the 2017 Ford Fireworks, and you can watch our full coverage from this year's event in the video above.

The Ford Fireworks began at 8 p.m. Monday, and the fireworks began blasting off at 9:55 p.m.

Here's what to watch for:

The actual Ford Fireworks

As producers of the Ford Fireworks, The Parade Company selects the musical arrangement and works exclusively with Zambelli Fireworks to stage more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River.

This year’s show themed is “Detroit! Right Now!!" It will be choreographed again by the world-renowned Patrick Brault, who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including past Olympics celebrations. This year’s theme is a salute to the current excitement and continued progress of our great city today.

Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party: From where Local 4 broadcasts

The Parade Company are Local 4's partners and this is one of their most popular fundraisers of the year. The event offers the best seats to view the fireworks. Guests attending the event will experience live music with Your Generation in concert on the main stage, food by Andiamo, plus games, giveaways and more for adults and kids and will get to be a part of our broadcast.

U.S. debut of pyrotechnic 'long standing letters' technique

Monday's fireworks show on the Detroit River will include the U.S. debut of pyrotechnic technology which enables the creation of long standing letters in the sky, said Tony Michaels, president and CEO of The Parade Co., the nonprofit that produces the Ford Fireworks.

The new pyrotechnics will produce a readable message. Watch for it midway through the fireworks and again near the end.

Entertainment: Detroit Duets

“Detroit Duets” will showcase some of the Motor City’s most diverse and engaging vocalists. Working musicians are the backbone of Detroit’s entertainment industry. We wanted to celebrate those talented singers who make their living gigging across metro Detroit, the state and even nationally and internationally

There will be 10 singers and 5 songs. It’s always exciting to watch two musicians perform a song together and experience how they each approach the music and performance.

See the line-up, which includes performances by Devin Scillian and Evrod Cassimy, here.
