Celebrate the summer harvest with two award-winning chefs at this pop-up event

It will be a 4-course vegan dinner with Korean and Moroccan flavors

Summer in Michigan is great for many things, we have beautiful lakes, some of the best sunsets around, and a great summer harvest. There are lots of fruits and vegetables that are ripe and ready to eat right now, and that is what inspired a pop-up event being put on by two award-winning chefs.

“Food & Wine’s” Best New Chef Ji Hye Kim with Miss Kim in Ann Arbor and James Beard Finalist Chef Omar Anani with Saffron De Twah in Detroit are joining forces to create a delicious 4-course dinner on Wednesday, August 10th.

Miss Kim is a Korean restaurant created by Chef Ji Hye Kim in collaboration with Zingerman’s. Her menu is inspired by locally grown produce and is very seasonal. Saffron De Twah is a Moroccan restaurant in Detroit focusing on “community and breaking barriers through food.”

Their menu will be all vegan and blend Korean, Moroccan, and Michigan cuisines. Dishes include Korean fried tofu in a soy and harissa glaze, and an edamame and avocado dip with vegetable and pita chips. Tickets cost $60 per person and there are seatings at 6 pm and 8 pm. The event is being held at Saffron De Twah and tickets can be purchased through their website.

The hope is that people will try out these cuisines and enjoy all the wonderful produce Michigan has to offer.
