Tony-award winning actor stars in new series on NBC

He’s starred in “Rent” and has been a familiar face on “Law & Order”, and now Jesse L. Martin is cracking high stake cases in his latest acting role on “The Irrational”.

Martin plays the role of Alec Mercer in the new show that premiered Monday night on NBC. Alec is a character who is a behavioral scientist and professor. While talking with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare, Martin explained that his character gets called in to help the FBI solve crimes and mysteries because of his skills with watching people’s behavior.

The plot of “The Irrational” includes an overarching case that connects every episode, Martin explained. He said Alec was involved in a church bombing where he was the only victim that survived, and the big mystery is who is responsible for it.
