Trends are constantly changing, and of course that’s the case with home design too. It might leave you asking yourself if you’re home is on trend.
With Shea Hicks-Whitfield from HGTV’s “Bargain Block” spending the week as guest host on “Live In The D”, it’s the perfect time to talk about home design trends. Friends of the show Lauren Crocker, from “Blaine & Lauren“ on 96.3 WDVD, and AJ Williams with ”The Michigan Chronicle" joined the conversation with Shea and “Live In The D” host Tati Amare. Tati mentioned a variety of home design trends and each of them revealed whether they think the trend is “in” or “out”.
First, Tati brought up barn doors. Shea said she loves barn doors, but that they’re being seen less in new construction. Lauren likes barn does, but AJ doesn’t like them. Meanwhile, Tati has mixed feelings.
The next design trend the group talked about is wallpaper. Shea, Tati, and Lauren agreed that wallpaper is in, while AJ said she’s not a fan of wallpaper. Shea explained that wallpaper is in, especially lavish designs with metallic. She suggested using wallpaper in a small space like a powder room.
Gold hardware was the next topic of discussion. Everyone in the group was a fan of this trend. Shea said that buyers fall in love with it when she’s showing homes. She said that you can have a kitchen that’s not that expensive, but if you add gold hardware and a faucet, then it pops.
After deciding that gold is not old, the group talked about kitchen islands, and the final topic in their conversation was accent walls. Watch the video to see the rest of their conversation.
