New SW Detroit Taco Spot Blends Regional Mexican Flavors

National Taco Day was earlier the week, but there’s a brand-new restaurant in Southwest Detroit that celebrates the dish year-round by fusing flavors from across Mexico.

“I wanted to provide a variety of tacos with just like different meats,” said Eduardo Vargas, Owner of Taco Wuey. He said this is what sets him apart from other restaurants. “What I tried to do is concentrate on different regions of Mexico...and just try to bring traditional recipes.”

He even infuses cactus in some dishes. He said after working in the restaurant industry for 20 years, it was time for him to bring his concept to life.

Taco Wuey is located 3970 Vernor Highway, Detroit.
