Brace for the Detroit deep freeze with cold trends

‘Trending Tuesday’ heats up the winter freeze with some hot topics

The deep freeze taking over the Midwest has inspired this week’s Trending Tuesday, as Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan discusses temperature-related topics that might have people buzzing.

Kicking off the first of four trends was bathhouses, which, according to Bloomberg Business, is replacing posh nightclubs as the best new place to socialize.

“They’re the new nightclub, the new coffee house, the new center for people to commune,” Jon said. He added that it’s an alcohol-free, more desexualized environment, but featuring major amenities that focus on wellness, community, and digital detox.

Moving on to the next topic, it features the naked dress trend, which has continued to appear at numerous red-carpet events.

“If you watch any award show now, it’s all about baring skin,” Jon explained. Rather than being asked, “Who are you wearing?”, the goal of this trend is to be asked, “Who are you not wearing?”

Continuing on the topic of being more exposed, there’s even a little more skin being shown on the runways of the menswear collections happening right now in Milan, London, and Paris. Featuring plunging necklines and shirtless sweaters, the fall and winter fashion collections for 2026 will make you brace the cold but look good doing it.

Interestingly enough, one of the male models for the Dsquared2 collection in Milan was Hudson Williams, currently a part of the current HBO Max phenomenon, “Heated Rivalry”.

As the show continues to create a huge search engine for the National Hockey League and bring in new fans, Williams and his co-star, Connor Storrie, were Winter Olympic Torchbearers on Sunday.
